antioch school

BILD University's Antioch School of Church Planting and Leadership Development is a church-based, competency-based school for assisting church leaders in training future leaders in the context of their churches. We are partnering with BILD International to provide degree level training for churches and leaders from basic grassroots level to Masters Degree in Christian ministry and theology. Leaders and teams will be trained in the context of existing church plants through the use of the BILD Leadership Series material and conducted by well-trained and experienced local and overseas leaders.

Brian Wilson is certified by BILD as associate faculty, opening the way for us to begin enrolling students throughout Australia in any of the degree courses. Certification training begins with an initial 5 day workshop and certifies a leader to begin using the BILD materials within their local churches or church plants. See our events for more details.

The Resources and Training

Leadership Series

BILD International's Leadership Series is a comprehensive set of resources designed to integrate with a community-based process of equipping ministers of the gospel. Engagement with community and mission is the integrative thread throughout the series, which seeks to accomplish two primary objectives:

  1. To equip the apprentice in a sound, church-based philosophy of ministry, godly character and essential skills required of those with equipping gifts. (Leadership Series I)
  2. To guide the apprentice in the formation of a biblical theology of the Bible and in the completion of a "Comprehensive Belief Framework in Culture", which addresses contemporary cultural issues from the foundation of the Biblical narrative. (Leadership Series II)

While the Leadership Series exists in two primary divisions, as seen above, they also are arranged according to three different emphases: character, ministry and academic. While these three emphases aren't necessarily intertwined and integrated, they help orient the participant to a particular spirit pursued in the Management and Organisation.

First Principles Series

First Principles Series

The First Principles Series is a set of thirteen, six-session Bible study guides for use with small groups. A guide is also available for equipping leaders to teach The First Principles. Rather than the typical fill-in-the-blank approach, the series employs a highly effective study method using readings, personal reflection, group interaction and projects. The First Principles Series teaches core principles systematically, leading participants in firmly establishing their faith and on to deeper commitment.

Training Services

AIA provides training and certification for both the Leadership and First Principle Series through a comprehensive programme of conversational style sessions for those wanting to lead the courses in their local church or network of churches. The training is conducted at the Antioch Initiative AU training facility in Latrobe, and followed up by on-site visits to the local church. The training takes two to three days and consists of teaching, reading, discussion and writing sessions. As well as the local sessions those wishing to develop a partnership with BILD are invited to the BILD International Summit in Ames, Iowa each November.
